Blaa
Yeah!!! But back to topic.. If I ever get my car over to the UK, I'll invest in that drive by wire.. The sharan had it, and I liked it..
Foggy
If I understand correctly ( I'm sure someone will tell me if I don't ) drive by wire simply means that there is no direct cable connection from the accelerator pedal, it's electronic rather, it's not something you can get fitted
Blaa
I know, but the CC is DBW right?? I know I can fit it, well the AmD site said so.
Foggy
Yeah if your car is already DBW you can fit it although I think you need to do some stuff with a VAG COM to enable it.
grahamb
DBW means that when you press the throttle pedal, you are not connected to the throttle with a cable. Instead, the pedal position is relayed to the ECU, and it then decides how much to open the servo controlled throttle. So you give it full throttle to jump on to a roundabout, and the ECU says "Nope, thats not economical, I'll give you 30% throttle and then we'll see who's the boss". So you end up slipping the clutch out of frustration, just to make quick starts. I think I prefer not to have DBW myself. But eventually, we wont have any choice in the matter as all new cars are having them as standard.
