jhibbin
Tried a few searches but no luck getting a straight answer here. If I dealer fit Cruise to a car that had factory fit MFSW will cruise work via the buttons on the steering wheel? Thanks
burble
No. Cruise on the Mk IV's is always controlled by the indicator stalk not the MFSW unlike on the Mk IV's where if you ordered cruise and the MFSW you got buttons on the left side of the wheel to control the cruise. Jack_is_Back
So if you order a MFSW you still have to pay extra for cruise control? And the buttons do nothing if you don't? How bizarre!
burble
Unless I'm mistaken there are no buttons on the MFSW related to the cruise control for the Mk V. Thinking back, buying the MFSW on my Mk IV included the price of the cruise control. From what I remember it was £180 for cruise or £220 for the MFSW which included cruise. The buttons do something!! There is hi fi control, trip computer controls plus phone controls if you have the handsfree stuff.

Hehe, I figured that! I was thinking there was also cruise buttons on the wheel that didn't work unless you paid extra. A bit like the phone buttons I had on my BMW but no bluetooth pack so they didn't do anything. Incidentally, cruise control buttons on the steering wheel is a much better solution than the fiddly ones on my indicator stalk.
AlanH
VW probably decided that 4 buttons on the MFSW was enough. Any more and it would look like a clown's jacket! Having said that, controls for cruise on the wheel would be a nice option.
