Metalex
According to the BMW website, the CO2 figure of a 125i Coupe is 190g/km, while on a 325i Saloon or Coupe, the figure is 170g/km. What am I missing? The engines are identical, are they not?
CarMad
Interesting, does the 1 series coupe use the efficiency dynamics ? Closes grill off when the engine is cold, engine stops when at at traffic lights etc. If not then that might be why plus a change in gearing maybe ?? I not completely sure what Efficient Dynamics entails, and whether there are differences between the 1 and 3 Series in this regard, however, I'm sure I read in the 3 Series brochure that the 6 cylinder 3 Series engines don't do the engine stop thing anyway. Dave
They could have different engine maps?

I think for the time being its the auto's that don't do the start/stop thing

The manual diesels seem to have it, but the 6 cylinder petrols don't (manual and auto). See here: 120d 125i
tom_hargreaves
Only 4-cylinder engines and manuals have Auto Stop/Start, i.e. you can have a 118d with an automatic gearbox and it won't have Auto Stop/Start, but it'll still have all the other stuff like the grill covers e.t.c
