ghemmings
Just check all my fluid levels today and noticed an oily creamy residue in the coolant expansion tank. Only a small amount, but feels slippery to the touch. There is no water in the engine oil though, all clean in there. My friend did some work on the car a few weeks ago and topped the coolant up with the blue stuff, not the red. Just clutching at straws realy, but does a combination of these two coolants cause an oily residue? Just don't want it to be the head gaskets. Anyone got any ideas? is this common? Cheers. cruiser647
This could be caused be many short journeys. If you take it on a long run, that should disappear. (hopefully!)
PaulW
Look at audipages.com and check out the engine oil cooler replacement procedure. It could be coming from the plastic pipes.
