CactusGreen
the headlight beam pattern for EU driving....is the only way those naff stick on reflectors? Asking for a mate who has 03' 530d with Bi-Xenon adaptive lights...i've just spent the best part of 2 hours trying to get off the glue left behind from a trip earlier in the year to France....it had etched the surface on one and looks like he used a brilo pad on the other.... All clear now, and polished back to a reasonable level again....the rains falling here so stopped any more work.... Now, my Audi I just flick over a switch on the light unit and the beams go the other way...could not see anything similar on the BMW. And it looks like there is no way to have say a headlight cover/protector in front of the lights, that you' then apply those reflectors to, rather than the lens itself, for a quick swap... Anyone?? Is there a switch, or something BMW can hook up to alter?? Thanks
gizze
The BMW also has a switch on all the bi-xenons, you have to lift the cap off and it is inside the light unit.
CactusGreen
Thanks gizze - apparently this is not known by the local BMW dealer, who keep selling him stick on reflectors....and wanted my mate to replace the entire light unit when they saw the damage done by the last set !! gizze
I took my brothers e39 530i over to Bruuge last November and used the switches.
gizze
Also the reflectors they sell in the AA shop at the Tunnel or Ferry cost £3.99, are only the size of a 50p and you only need it on the passenger side lamp. Don't let him buy the stupid expensive ones from the dealer!
