Cheers alistair, it really does look the part and is well spec'd. If she doesnt move i will run her in loo of the company car for a while but would prefer not to as i'm scared company business will spoil such a good car. I've had one nibble already. So hopefully...................+++

If this doesnt shift by around march time, i'm tempted to trade in for an exige, z4 coupe 3.0si or a z4m coupe. The reason because there is no point in having two four door saloons sitting in my drive. I may as well have a weekend toy for similar money than i'm paying at the minute.

To be honest i have driven none of these cars as yet but plan to over the festive period. Does anyne think i'm crazy for considering this in the current climate. Does anyone have real experience of these cars.

Also the running costs of these models is pretty unknown to me but i suspect the z4m coupe could be pretty high. I dont mind reasonable expense but i'm not wanting to invest daft money in something that is second best option ie a sporty car only because i cant shift the 330d.

Opinions/ experiences welcome people+++

I dont think you are crazy to go out and buy a new car now, no. But i will tell you this - you will have a BIG issue trying to find an underwrite for that car. It took me months to get a reasonable p/x deal on my 320d M-Sport. 4 weeks after changing, it is still sat on their forecourt.

BMW are in big trouble (see separate thread) and will liklely refuse p/x. Therefore my best advice would be to try and keep out of the BMW dealer network - source the Exige/Z4 from a specialist dealer and you may have some luck. Go for a p/x against a Z4 at a BMW dealer and be prepared to either faint, or be refused a trade-in. I had offers c £12.5k - £13k on a regular basis. That was an 07 320d M-Sport Touring, fully loaded with a £31k list price by the time the extras were fitted.

It's not nice out there at present, but best of luck +++

I sold my 3.0D X3 just after Christmas and this may be an option for you. I went along to an independent dealer who sells generally nice stuff and he agreed to put it on his website and his forecourt. Car was still mine so he had no financial risk and we simply agreed an asking price and then what would be returned to me. Worked really well as I got loads more than if someone had been underwriting the car and buying it off me for resale purposes and worked well for the trader as he made a profit with no risk and a big engined jeep is something he would not have wanted to stock. Might be an option for you if you can do a similar deal with a local garage or even your BMW dealer. That way they know they are not loosing money if it sits a while and its a lot more likely to be seen in a car sales place than sitting in your drive.

Thats exactly the kind of deal i am going to be doing with the local BMW garage. They seem keen because they know that all my cars have been cherished and it requires no work to put onto the forecourt. I never made it in today but hopefully tomorrow. As you say, no risk for them, a win win situation.+++
