No Horn on Mk4 Golf 2001

Hi there hope someone can help, i have just bought a 2001 Golf 1.9TDI Se Estate but the horn does not work, when you press the horn pad NOTHING! can anyone help me discover what is wrong?

I don't suppose you have an airbag light on aswell do you?

Have you checked all the fuses? Is there power to the horn when you press the button? Is the horn unit actually there and not dropped off?

I had a similar problenm on my Leon which is based on the Mk4 and I think the horn is in the same place. It's located low down on the passenger side behind the front spoiler and gets all the crap of the day all over it.

The only way to fix it was to replace the horn unit for about £20
VW Scirocco GT (170), Rising Blue, 19" Black Lugano Style Pack, Leather, Panoramic Roof, Dynaudio, DAB, Xenons, Cruise, Bluetooth, Parking Sensors, Folding Mirrors, Winter Pack, Badge Deletion

VW Move up!, Tornado Red
