vwman
Today whilst driving the following happened. Lould hissing noise from engine loss of power Plumes of black smoke from exhaust pipe I have looked in the engine, checking for lose or broken pipes and cannot see what is the cause. The car is now with my local garage. Just hope it's nothing to serious......
Tipex
Sounds like it's popped a hose between the turbo and the engine, not uncommon on the Passat and some of the pipes are well hidden, it's usually the one buried down the back of the engine. vwman
Hi Tipex Thanks for the reply and suggested cause. That does sound about right.Just telephoned the garage to see how they are getting on.Car currently being road tested. They also thought it was a split or disconnected hose but could'nt see anything. Will keep you posted.....
vwman
The garage has confirmed that they have found a split hose from the turbo to the engine/inter-cooler I think they said. Tipex you were spot on with your diagnosis.Thank you...
