E.L.M.O
I remember seeing a step by step guide on how to remove tv in motion on an A8 RNS D. But I cant find it now... Anyone got a link please? Thanks!
AudiPartner
Why would you want to remove it?
E.L.M.O
I want to remove the lock on it. Ie cut the wire that activates it (and i believe also raises the volume when the road noise increases.
shark_90
You need to cut the GALA wire, have a look on the pinout on the top of your nav unit.
E.L.M.O
There was a "how to guide" with step by step instructions (the sort of instructions that even I couldnt go wrong with!) anyone remember and got a saved link? I did bookmark it, but my laptop broke!
Nollywood
Forgive my ignorance - but why would you want to enable TV whilst you're driving? I don't get it.
garcon magnifique
It's also illegal and will get you points and a fine.
PsYcHe
I think you need to do it even if you have AV outputs for the rear screens.
craigyb
I don't think you do as only the front screen blanks. Rear screens can still see the TV output.
PsYcHe
Bang goes that argument then Though, saying that mine had decided that it wouldn't show on the front screen even if the car was stationary.
Tatlow
The best thing to do is to get a switch installed (discreetly) under the top of the small stowage compartment to the right of the steering wheel. This means you can turn the TV-in-motion thing on or off. I did it so that not only can the passengers in the back watch their screens, but the front passenger can too. Incidentally, I don't drive around with the DVD or the TV playing for me to watch while I'm at the wheel - you'd have to be a bit of an idiot to do that! At the same time as I had this done, I had the stereo beefed up and they installed a bass controller in a similar place to the TV switch I mentioned. It's useful to have immediate control over these things, as opposed to having to go into the menus.
