Oh and a reminder and word of warning to those of us driving there - don't crash on the way home!

Seems like a silly thing to do but you inevitably start slinging the car about like a kart and your initial instincts tell you you're still in the kart...couple that with a bit of leftover "schumacher" and comedy things can happen.

Don't believe me? A mate wrote off his landrover (and half a roundabout) within 150 yards of the kart track recently :roflmao:

It would appear I'm going and coming back in a go-kart.

Fatcat's got a green one.

I was coming back from a night karting years ago and I moved the steering wheel on my company Escort 1.4 L (brrrm brrrm) about the same amount as I'd been doing on track.... and surprise surprise I was still heading towards parked cars. A late swerve saved the day :o

p.s. another :o for the company car.

Racing? More like demolition derby. Karts every where. I lost count of the spins. It was a tad slippery and I drove crap.

I started on one engine and went straight to last and didn't get the engine started for nearly 3 laps.

Second race punted off at the start and then FatCat and I played banger racing.

Had a hoot and will pretend it was just about haveing fun and it matters not the position I finished in :P

Well... Unfortunately there was a monumental cock up with the timing... which i can only apologies for.

What was SUPPOSED to happen, and what I had arranged with the guys in the office was for points to be given for each race and these points added together.

Unfortunately somewhere down the line this wasn’t passed on and instead they left the clock running. So although i have been able to work out who finished where in race 1, because they didn’t reset the computer (thus resetting those who had been lapped etc), race 2 finishing positions are not accurate.

Still... HOPEFULLY everyone had some fun sliding around in the wet and maybe next time it will work smoothly or We’ll just go back to a simple 1 hr flat out race format.

Thanks again

Nathan

Best night of banger racing I've had in a while......... conditions were a tad VERY slippy, spun countless times, ended up in the barrier AND on the grass, marshalls oblivious to my pleas of help and then the buggers called me in for a 30 second penalty for being on the grass..............

I gave up.

Great fun and must do it again in high summer and in the dry.

Apologies to all the drivers I nudged, tapped, rammed, pushed off and bumped into.

Still, just managed to finish 23rd.

+1 My driving last night was truely disastrous, I think I must have taken a different line in to every corner on every lap! The wet & dark combo are definatley not to my liking but is was great fun and I will definately go again if only to get some more practice and a few more laughs doing synchronised spinning.

Mollox did lead for a while at the start of race 2 while I held up the pack until they all streamed past me as I went backwards into a corner :o A few corners of glory for TSN against the PGT 12 year-olds (is it just me or did anyone else feel old?).

Nathan, Thanks for organising a great nights racing +++ Nice to see everyone so competitive but so good natured about all the bumping and spinning.
