forresthills
Hope maybe the tyresmoke massive can help with this one too. I won an auction on ebay, but was away for its conclusion. So 2 days later when I go to pay for the item, the seller is listed as no longer being a registered member of ebay. Following ebay's on line advice, I did not pay for the item and subsequently deleted it from my inbox. 3 weeks later (today) I get an email via ebay over non payment for the item. The problem is I have now bought the item (a watch by the way), elsewhere and don't really want or need the ebay one. Where do I stand? According to the ebay email I could receive negative feedback, etc, when in reality I've not really done anything wrong. In other words, can I 'unbuy' the item? Cheers. forresthills
cruiser647
If you contact them and explain, I am sure they'll be OK with it. They should have a record of when the seller 'is not registered'. Also, email/contact the seller and tell him/them/her why you have not paid. Shouldn't be an issue. EddyH
If the seller isn't registered then he can't leave feedback.
forresthills
Thanks for the responses. I contacted ebay yesterday and they replied this morning. Essentially, you have to go through the non payment dispute resolution process (they can’t get involved at this stage etc) So I have emailed the seller (who now appears to be a registered member again – not sure how that works), and explained the situation. I guess well have to see how reasonable he or she is.
JoeNobody
If the seller isn't registered then he can't leave feedback. IIRC sellers can't leave negative feedback now anyway - the worst they can do is not leave any feedback.
forresthills
A quick check on google proves you right. In that case he can take his watch and go (insert expletive) himself. Thanks for the heads up JoNo.
Wizbit
He can try and get Ebay to put an upaid 'strike' against you though, so probbaly best not to p%ss him off too much and keep things civil!
