Tysoe82
I am considering buying a golf 1.9tdi from my friend, there is one issue that iid like to find out about. He says when driving it fast for a long time the turbo cuts out around 105mph and he has to switch engine on and off to reset the turbo. What could this problem be and how could it be fixed? Any advice welcome Cheers
cruiser647
105 mph? Turbo cutting out could be quite a few things:- 1) - MAF needs replacing 2) - N75??? Relay 3) - Turbo itself....... (sticky vanes if fitted with the variable turbo) 4) - Has it been remapped/chipped? 5) - holes in the air hoses somewhere....... 6) - Matey's driving..... Hope that he,lps. Have you heard of the old adadge - never buy a car from a friend?
Greasymech
Very true ! Unless the vehicle was owned by a little old lady and driven by Ford mechanics. Previous advice given by cruiser is good................
