Seanie
Can anyone explain to me the function of the "DFI" in diesel Audi's? I may have the acronym incorrect It was explained to me that if this DFI red light came on, you must 'take the car for a blowout' otherwise warranty will be null and void. I believe it has something to do with gases etc. I ask, because I do a low mileage commute, 8 miles back and forth each day. I'm a low mileage driver. Will this "DFI" thing adversely effect me, if I'm not getting the car up to working temperature much? I read elsewhere that Diesels are actually better in these situations than petrols, but then this 'DFI' thing was thrown to me and I wonder if anyone has had issues with it i.e. low mileage drivers, high mileage drivers it won't effect? burble
DPF maybe? It stands for Diesel Particulate Filter and from what I've read they filter gets clogged up if you do short runs which puts a warning light on the dash. As for invalidating the warranty? I don't believe that for a second.
