Braders78
Hi, this is my first post. Recently the drverside drive shaft broke on my sharan. It broke the coupler to the gearbox and brackets etc. Once fitting new drive shaft and couplers etc found the cars performance to have vanished under 2600 revs. My brother inlaw is mech and we have changed the air flow sensor and one of the turbo pipes that was damaged. He put some kinda cleaner in and that has made the turbo a bit better it now is only dead under 2300. Also the turbo has completely cut out occasionally only to be fixed by turning off/on. Any help appreciated. Carter
cruiser647
Could be that the turbo vanes are stuck in the widest position? I think the vanes are variable (not sure). The dreaded N75 relay maybe at fault. Have a look around on this forum and you'll find info on the N75 relay. Hope that helps? PS - welcome to TSN! Braders78
Just had alook at the turbo actuator, looks like the drive shaft has hit it when it broke. It has a dent in it. I guess that this has had an effect on the connecting rod to the turbo. Better take it out and have a look. Can I just replace the acctuator? Or will it need to be specially set up with the turbo? Braders78
Looked under the car yestaday checking for hoses damaged again, and found that the turbo acuator has got a dent on it from where the drive shaft broke. I presume this has damaged the link between the acctuator and turbo. Will take it off next week to inspect.
