r32 headlight conversion

3 posts in this topic

hi to all, i have a just bought a 2006 gttdi and booked it in with a bodyshop for a r32 bodykit conversion, the only problem i am having is that the original r32 xenon headlights that i have bought will not fit the gti as the connector plug to the lights is different and has more wires attached. On searching the forum nothing showed so i posted a new thread. If anyone has done this or can shed light on this i would be very happy and grateful. thanks

It's much more than just the headlights. You need ballasts, headlight switch and a complete new wiring loom. As well as headlamp washers being a legal requirement.

Personally I would buy some of the darkened GTi Halogen lights?

Plus coding with vagcom. From what I read before its a massive job as the levelling motors take a feed from sensors on the wheel hubs or somewhere on suspension - something you won't have on the GTTDi. Probably end up costing an absolute fortune.

Found this on vortex VWvortex Forums: Golf V GTI OEM Xenon Installation Completed. which might help.
