"Gamezone" plug and play arcade games

8 posts in this topic

anyone got one?

saw them selling them off what appeared to be a smart stall in the Wimbledon centre court centre

for ages i have been waiting for someone to sell all the aracde classics (my faves are space invaders and galaxians) in original format - not some jazzed up 3D makeover

anyway this thing was £35 for about 100 titles - you plug it into the TV, stick some batteries in the handset and off you go

not that its much of an outlay but just wondered if anyone had a review (or failing that knows of an xbox compilation of the arcade classics)

Chaps,

Got pointed in this direction by a mate at work as I wanted to play Galaxians again on my desktop.....Just having a fiddle around now so will report back, however, follow these MAME 32 emualtor :

Instructions

Download Mame

The actual Roms are a bit difficult to get hold of:

But Try:

Found another source

BTW looks like for the space invaders shoot up's left is left arrow, right is right arrow, fire is Cntl. Hyperspace on asteroids is H, thrust is ALT

But they might disappear...best way to find them is to look for the file name.zip

e.g. gng.zip for Ghosts and Goblins (you can find the file name from the mame emulator)

Try Google and File shares.

Atari thing is good value but doesn't have my faves on

I know I can probably download from the web but I'll never be arsed to play them if it means firing up the computer - that was the beauty of the gamezone thingie - just plug into TV and play beerchug.gif
