It seams as there are many others out there with the same problem as I have around the buttons on my climate control unit rubbing off which in day light looks bad but at night looks a whole lot worse.

Is there any kit for repair for this or is it best just to replace the whole unit

Whats the top tips here

Thanks

Slightly different to your problem, but a couple of mine seem to stick. Worse when it's cold. I guess a previous owner spilt something sticky down his centre console (I dread to think...). But I'd be interested to know if there's an easy way to replace buttons, or even to remove them to clean.

Entirely new replacement unit needed from what I've read I'm aftaid. I got a new one for £40 from ebay, quite a steal I think. Be aware that 2001-2008 A4's use the same climate unit (as well as the 'New' SEAT Exeo!), so there should be loads about.

If you get a unit from a Nov 2004 onwards car you will need to solder a relay into the back (I have fitting/wiring instructions) as the interior design changed a little.
