Merlot
I was taking a peek through the service book for a new A3 and it gave a few facts away about the service regime for the RS5 which, I presume, must be being launched pretty soon. Firstly you can see that it does not have Haldex or a diesel engine. Well there is no news in those facts! Anyway, it is not listed as having STronic and its air filter is due to be replaced every 19000 miles. The only other Audi that needs the air filter replacing that regularly is the RS6. Even the R8 does not need it changed until 57000 miles. I'm not sure what that tells us but is it possible to get the V10 in the A5 engine bay (thought it was a high revving V8 again) and is the RS5 going to be manual only? Thoughts welcome! Andy_Bangle
STronic can't handle the power, unless they've tweaked it - it may well be Tiptronic like the RS 6. supercharged V6? screaming FSI V10? boosted version of the 2.5 Litre turbocharged five cylinder from the factory tuned Audi TT RS? - all of them sound good to me :D Edited January 31, 2010 by Andy_Bangle
Merlot
Strange thing S-Tronic. Audi don't trust its smoothness or long term reliability to put it in the D4 A8 yet risk it in the B8 S4 with an engine which presumably will undergo a lot of after market tuning as it gets older. mark88
Audi are taking far far too long launching this car. Haven't heard anything for months now.

Merlot
Probably. My local dealer ordered his demo six months ago. Its a bit like the A8 which was ready to go for some time before they launched it. Trouble is Audi is now launching so many models that getting a slot must be quite hard.
