micalee
Is it possible to replace the Halogen Headlamps for Xenon Headlamps? and if so, where would be the best place to get them from, rough price and finally, are they plug and play or a bit harder to fit? Is there an MOT requirement for headlamp washers if xenon fitted?
muergo
You can get kits to change over quite easily, they need a ballast/ starter as they are arc lights and need to "strike" before settling down after a couple of seconds. About £50 a pair (dipped). To conform to the regulations you need headlight washers and self levelling installed to prevent glare to other drivers. Whether this is picked up at your MOT is a matter of luck, there are many cars with xenon arcs and none of these, I have been dazzled by them myself. I am not sure whether manual levelling from knob on dash would suffice. Don't confuse these lights with some filament bulbs which are just filled with xenon gas, they are a fifth of the price but not anywhere near the same.
