Renualt Scenic (timing belt broken)

5 posts in this topic

Looking for some advice on what to do ?

Here,s the story my younger brother was travelling to Southampton to go on a cruise holiday when his timing belt broke, the car got towed to a garage in Southampton,he left the car with the garage as he had to get on the ship and the garage were going to asses the damage at a fee of £200, he has now found out the engine is gubbed and £1500 to repair, I think the car is not worth much more than £1700 so think it is not worth the repair. So here is the problem if i try to get the car home will cost £300 to £400 approx plus can get second hand engine for £350 which equalls about £950, still in my opinion not worth the hassle.

What i was wondering if any you guys know of anyone in the surrounding area who would be willing to buy the car in its present condition.

2003 Scenic 1400 16V PETROL (he has owned the car fromm new)
