rs32
Need to be a member of that forum to view so perhaps worth sticking on pistonheads or similar . thanks for the reminder Here is the Ad text from CS Clio 172 Cup converted from road to track use - the car has been kept on SORN for the last 2 years. The car was purchased privately at 43k miles and went through various stages of parts renewal then full conversion to rollcage and race suspension. The conversion was managed and undertaken by APS in Brackley, Northants who also comissioned the services of a local company near Silverstone for the rollcage and interior painting (Clio 172 Cup car experts). Effectively this is now a top condition track toy for prospective buyers - not used since the roll cage and race suspension were fitted and garaged at all times. Road car history - 2003/53 registration - HPI Clear - The vehicle was serviced by Renault main dealers with all the correct stamps - Condition at time of purchase was "very good" but not "immaculate". Conversion for track use Various pics of the full vehicle prep and finished car can be found at 172Cup pictures by rs32 - Photobucket and Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket Current Specification Approx 52k miles on the clock with cambelt change done (first thing I had replaced). The car weighs less than the standard road version but I do not have an exact figure - but it's not lardy as you can see from the pictures. Interior Full approved rollcage, professionally installed. Sparco Pro-2000 front buckets with harnesses Sparco alcantara steering wheel Flocked dashboard Carbon fibre door cards Metal-grip footwell plates Rest of interior completely stripped and professionally repainted in white Engine Standard block, cams, head and internals Full samco blue hose set Samco intake elbow Exchange ECU supplied by Paul @ RS Tuning with 7650 rpm map suitable for Milltek sports cat and k-tec stealth Milltek sports cat K-Tec stealth cat-back exhaust Magnecor 8.5mm blue ignition leads Motul oil cooler The engine is estimated at putting out approximately 190 bhp at the flywheel, maybe a touch higher. Clutch replaced with uprated helix paddle item. Chassis Full KW Competition suspension setup (fully adjustable) with a custom-made damper and spring combination for this specific car. We supplied the chosen toe, camber and vehicle weight values to KW and they built the parts to suit. This is £1300 worth of KW kit, never used on road or track. Whiteline adjustable rear anti-roll bar Eibach front/top strut brace Whiteline camber/toe kit (the current settings are much more neutral than a road setup) Full Powerflex purple bush kit Driveshafts, CV boots and joints replaced with RS Megane items All wheel bearings replaced with OEM RS Clio items Original Clio 172 wheels fitted with all weather track-oriented tyres Speedline 2118 15" white alloys fitted with Dunlop Direzza 02 cut slicks Brakes Tarox G88 discs & matching pads Goodridge hoses and ATE Blue brake fluid This is probably the only area I would want to upgrade if keeping the car, but not absolutely necessary. Sale This is a genuinely well prepared and looked after vehicle, it has had well over £7000 spent on it and has been meticulously rebuilt and maintained by a competent tuning/track specialist. I'm happy to answer any questions about the car via PM - please note I'm not interested in selling off any bits, either the car gets sold whole to a trackday enthusiast or I keep it. In terms of road-legal status, I would advise any prospective purchaser to budget for a full MOT and have the rear toe kit settings checked as on b-roads it is very keen to follow the opposite lane camber due to 0 degrees toe. I've always had the car trailered to circuits so cannot vouch for its road-legal status but there should not be any serious issues. Before the car is sold/collected I will have it fully checked with an oil service and it will be ready to use on circuit. I am asking £6750 for the car including the service and full track-worthiness check If a buyer prefers to take the car as-is then I will accept £6500 as I won't incur any transportation or workshop costs. From mid-Jan 2011 the car will be based in Warwickshire/Northamptonshire. Full inspections can be undertaken by serious buyers only. No offers below £6500 - payment accepted by direct bank transfer only, no paypal or cash. Thanks for reading - this is a great car for a serious track day enthusiast and I will be very sad to see it go.
rs32
Update - last season came and went and the new season is almost upon us. If there's a serious buyer out there I'd be prepared to let the car go as-is for £5750 ovno - with the buyer collecting the vehicle. This is a complete steal, but we need the space and it's criminal for this car not to be used on track. If it still doesn't sell at this price, I'm going to have to quit my job, move us both into a caravan and live off Heinz Big Soups so I can spend all week tracking it. Lottie will not be happy with this idea, so please help us out Just a reminder, this is a Clio 172 Cup with full track conversion in pretty much fresh and ready for track condition. It's been sitting for 18 months but a service will see it ready to go. PM me for more details or to arrange a viewing if you're seriously interested. thanks, Richard. Calm Chris
Are you up the spud? And how is the oem tsn couple? And cats..
rs32
we're good thanks. No spuds involved, it's just not fair leaving this in storage with a relative when they need the space - and more to the point, the car needs using. I've got into the obsessive side of car audio builds now - so no time for track stuff.
