eolair
Hi in a similar vein to http://www.tyresmoke.net/forum/car-electronics-satnav-i-c-e-multimedia/123667-a6-climate-control-electrical-problem-help-needed.html , I have aircon failure and multiple warning lights appear at the same time. It's a 2003 1.9SE A6, with a venerable 180k on the clock. Last week multiple failures appeared at the same time, viz: * ABS/ESP yellow warning light * oil sensor yellow warning light * Aircon and climate control unit has no power / lights showing * electrical wing mirror control not working * rear window demister not working * DIS temp either doesn't show, or displays silly temp like -25o Everything else is fine, all other hazard / warning / DIS / dashpod displays appear normal. I suspect damp wiring or dodgy fuses. Has any one experience of this, or can provide a wiring diagram so I can see what is common? I already tried one audio 'specialist', who failed to complete the service I'd asked for, and completely ignored the electricals, and had the gumption to hand back the car saying, "you really need to book it in to have those electricals checked". Grrr that's what I did! - sorry rant over. So back to matter at hand, wiring diagrams or inspiration gratefully received. Cockney Boy
First off all, Have you got anyone to do a complete scan using VCDS? This will point you in the direction of what could be the problem. It could be the CAN Bus or a gateway. Only a scan will show you where to start looking. craigyb
2003 A6 won't have a gateway as it's a K-line car for diags. It does have canbus for drive train / convenience / infotainment etc. These items may be related from the same power source which is where I would start. PetrolDave
These items may be related from the same power source which is where I would start. i.e. Check ALL the fuses, not just the ones in the fuse box but also any under the bonnet near the battery (don't know if the C5 A6 has any of them, but worth looking).
