Only one week to Go! Go! Go! until the cars are wheeled out on track for the first (and maybe the last time) in Melbourne and we'll be able to see how the off-season development work has progressed.

Formula 1

Schumacher topped the times in testing at Barcelona last week after upgrades to his Mercedes so it will be interesting to see how many crashes he causes this year.

Despite Schumacher times, world champion Sebastian Vettel and team-mate Mark Webber have managed to top the timings in Barcelona four times out of eight days between them. So will Red Bull will once again be the ones to watch in 2011?

Over at Ferrari, championship runner-up Fernando Alonso and his team-mate Felipe Massa have both shown pace in shorter bursts and strength in race simulations, but analysts point to tyre life as a potential weakness for the Italian marque.

Behind Red Bull, Ferrari - and now perhaps Mercedes - the pack tightens around the midfield of Renault, Williams, McLaren, Toro Rosso and Sauber.

After a catalogue of headaches, from exhaust, hydraulics and engine problems to a lack of spare parts, McLaren have done little to show they will start 2011 where they left off as F1's third fastest team.

Of 2010's three new entrants, Team Lotus appear to have made the most progress - on pace alone the Norfolk-based team have made up at least a second over the winter to move closer to Force India at the back of the pack.

It will be interesting to see how the teams interpret all the new reg's.

So the season has now officially kicked off! +++

The Red Bulls setting the early pace in Practice 1 with Webber coming out on top and Button and Hamilton over 1.5 seconds off the pace!, but the Mclaren's seem to have got the set up sorted and top Practice 2 with Button putting in the quickest time! ;)

Roll on Quali tomorrow to really see whe who's holding back and who's got the true pace.

Really, Vettel is looking great for the race then. Fantastic lap by LH to split the Redbulls but I think Webber had a poor sector somewhere. He should be second with the Redbull. Still, no points for Saturdays and I think Tyres could be a major issue. Could see a very different result to quail. Still think Button is in with a shout though.

Adrian Newey looks to be ahead of the field again. Cant imagine how brilliant this guy must be. Even in Hamilton does get to turn one in front, SV will breeze past him somewhere else. LH must keep his Tyres in good condition and hope SV's tyres go off. Wouldn't bet on it!

Moving on!

There is a massive storm brewing over the front wing saga again. The FiA were meant to sort out the flexible wing situation regarding it being flexible and a new test. Since quali there has been a massive amount of photos of Vettels car showing the front wing flat to the floor when travelling at pace and then up high at slower speeds. Worse for Redbull, Webbers doesn't seem to flex as much and he's seen looking at the SV wing after quali has finished. Some are even saying that the nose is moving downwards too. Conspiracy already, God I love F1!
