"High" mileage

I have recently been looking at some E46 and E90's BM's and in trying to get as much for my money as possible, I have been looking at some higher mileage or older examples. Not moon and back or anything but 100, 110k or 8 or so years old.

Is this considered high mileage for this sort of car? Obviously a complete service history and general condition are a given.

I am presuming the engines will go on for ever, but is there anything to be aware of? I know about the swirl flap mod on the diesels already.

Cheers +++

a BMW over 100K is fine so long as it has BMW or specialist service history, specifically had the oil changes and coolant changes on time. over 100k pay special attention to the cooling system in general, some people swap the radiators and thermostats out at this time depending on condition. also the autobox can cause trouble upwards of 100k as bmw advise it is a sealed for life unit. the engines themselves if looked after will be good for many miles.
