cruiser647
My mate is currently looking at a few 2007 A6's. He's seen a few and most have a Bluetooth option of some sort. The questions he has are:- Are those age Bluetooth consoles compatible with modern phones? He saw one with an optin on the MMI of 'Clear Devices' and 'PIN'. Does this mean the phone searches for the car and then connects? If the Bluetooth is shi1te, can he upgrade it at all? I think these are mostly aimed at Mr Craigyb..... Thank you! CarMad
No idea to most of the questions but the bluetooth and the options menu on my MMI 2010 A6 is great and works with the iPhone no problems at all for all the features that I use.
craigyb
Well the good thing is that the buetooth can be updated to the latest version which is 1130 or 1120 for BTA modules. This will work with most modern phones including iphone.
cruiser647
He's got either an HTC Desire or might have upgraded to a different HTC style Android phone. I'll let him know! Thanks!
cruiser647
A few more questions about MMI, AMI stuff on the A6 3.0 TDi (57 plate) Can AMI be retrofitted? Can Full Voice command be fitted? Can MMI be upgraded and where do the Nav updates come from? And Hidden Menu - does the car need to be running to get this up? Thanks!
Cockney Boy
Yes Yes And from the latest Nav DVD Craig fitted SDS and AMI to my A6 when it was the 2G version. I highly recommend it
cruiser647
How much for an AMI upgrade? How much for an MMI upgrade? And how do you get to the 'hidden menu' to eject the Nav DVD?
Cockney Boy
Give either Craig at tclsatnav or Gareth at VWcruise they could give you a price How much for an AMI upgrade? How much for an MMI upgrade? craigyb
Hidden menu is ony available if the MMI controller has been programmed to enable it. Controller 07, Adaptation channel 8 = 1 AFAIK there is no eject option in the hidden menu. You have to change the DVD lock/eject setting in the DVD nav module. Controller 37, adaptation 68 = 0 (eject button active)
