NewNiceMrMe
Excellent write up Bazza and a fab experience by the sounds of it.++ I was always impressed with the PS and PS2's on my two M3's. They never let me down. Oddly enough though, I always thought the original PS's were slightly better in the wet than the PS2's.
Phantom
B@stard comes to mind but needless to say I would jump at the chance of doing something like that. Great write up Bazza, have you thought of setting up your own blog ?
Scotty
It sounds like a brilliant trip and yes, I'd love to have done it!! B@stard indeed! Are the other brands known and could they be compared against?
bazza_g
On the wet braking test I think the other two brands were Continental and Pirelli, on the track for dry handling it was just the range of Michelin compared. The DEKRA tests had previously detailed specific brands but this time they had to comply with some legal stuff so it was just shown as euro premium brand x/y/z (Continental, Dunlop, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Goodyear)
bazza_g
Great write up Bazza, have you thought of setting up your own blog ? Cheers No time to blog but just getting a bit into Twitter - and besides, this doesn't happen every day so I'd run out of stuff to blog pretty soon
Andrew
Looking at the Michelin guide to the different tyres the PS3 looks like a better choice for someone who doesn't do track days - i.e. me. Although everyone insists the Pilot Super Sport is the PS2 replacement and it is that which should adorn the M3 when replacement comes.
bazza_g
Although everyone insists the Pilot Super Sport is the PS2 replacement and it is that which should adorn the M3 when replacement comes. When they are available I'll be getting Supersports for the GTR, the wet braking was excellent still but the dry grip was amazing, the Gumpert Apollo S made my eyes pop on them Edited July 21, 2011 by bazza_g

Tarmac_Terrorist
Cracking write up All that must have put a little dent in their PR budget! Was any reason given for not having a dry breaking standard?
Scotty
I've just read on a US forum that in the US the SuperSports are warrantied to 30k miles!!! The PS2's were warrantied to 20k .... and there was nothing in the small print to rule out track days!
