Tipex
You'll be wanting one of these then- Haynes build an Engine kit, I've got one that I fully intend to build, but it's been sat in a cupboard for two years!

Hopsta
Got one of these for the old man last Christmas, cambelt snapped within a couple of days after building. He should have taken out a warranty

patently
Right, it's through the Post Build check, Caterham found some stuff to keep their quarterly turnover figures up but nothing hideous. The IVA is set for 9 November at 8am, fingers crossed!

patently
Thanks! I'm running out of fingers & toes to cross... Good luck, how long does the test take? When do you get it back? I've no idea how long it takes! If it passes, Caterham will pop the forms into DVLA and I'll collect it once they've bothered to register it - could be another 5 days :sauer:

m4ttm4son
Have you booked a long weekend for when you get it back? And got two more fresh sets of rear tyres in the garage?
patently
Good luck, how long does the test take? A spot of Googling suggests 4 hours! Have you booked a long weekend for when you get it back? And got two more fresh sets of rear tyres in the garage? Nah, I'll just vanish! Apparently the tyres they fit for the Academy cars are like bricks, and about as grippy. Caterham claim one set will last for the season's racing... we'll see. Drinks
Now we just need to wait for DVLA to to its stuff. It's probably more important that we all cross our fingers that they don't lose your paperwork than it was for the IVA

patently
Aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!!! Cockup on the documents front. Caterham misprinted the chassis number on the certificate of newness. Not a problem, they can re-issue it. However, I used that to tell the insurers the chassis number for the cover note. So we need a new cover note, which my simply excellent insurance brokers are rushing to the postbox, but that means at least one day's delay, possibly two if they don't manage to catch the last post. Tipex
I wouldn't worry too much, insurers and manufacturers certificates are the least of your worries when dealing with the DVLA. Lets hope your one of the lucky minority and get sorted out quickly! Congrats on the build by the way!
