TrundleFly
Hi folks My 2005 3.0 TDI is getting close to 100K miles now. Just had a call from Audi saying it is due a cambelt change and quoted £399. Is this about right? Also, are there other things it is worth doing as preventative action whilst I have it in there given the age and mileage? Any advice appreciated... pingpongpo
I know it's a different car but VW were doing an offer which was £299 for the cambelt or £399 cambelt+waterpump This was for a golf tdi1.9 so if yours includes the waterpump I would say it was a good price from a main dealer. jk88
You're in luck - the A8 3.0TDI engine has a chain, not a belt, so should be no need to replace during the normal life of the engine. Which Audi dealer called you ? Just so I know not to let them anywhere near my car
TrundleFly
Thanks, all sorted now. I think it was just their call centre calling anyone with a 5 year old car. I won't name and shame the dealership as I don't really think it was their fault...
