fizzbitt
Awesome noise and spectacle it has to be said. The noise was just amazing and no idea why it was so low over a major city centre! Felt the building rumble as it went past!

fizzbitt
It was going some too as a few of us literally ran to the window to spot what was making the noise and within say 5 seconds it was gone!
fizzbitt
Quick search online shows that Leeds/Bradford airport is celebrating 80 years of being open and there are a few fly-bys by different aircraft including the Lancaster Bomber and the Eurofighter. We had the Lancaster straight past our window of a meeting room I was in, very low and close, out at junction 46 M1....
fizzbitt
Aye sadly we never got to see or hear that one but the Eurofighter sure made up for it!

Did the noise of those merlins make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up? There is something really haunting about the sound of Merlins :-)
garcon magnifique
Obviously didn't come from our side of t'hill, otherwise he'd have dropped a couple of bombs...

Luke
Used to regularly see Concorde taking off from Heathrow as it climbed above the M25. The sheer noise that thing used to make was amazing. It always filled me with a sense of national pride that the UK (and the Frenchies) could build such a brilliant plane. It really was something else.
