A4driver
Hi all, recently my A4 B6 1.9TDI's glow lamp icon has been intermittently coming on whilst i'm driving. Without having to take it to Audi, I thought Imight tackle the issue myself. Has anyone out there replaced the 4 glow lamps themselves and was it an easy task. Any tips I should be aware of? Many thanks
cruiser647
It might not be the glow lamps. It might be a faulty brake switch. Get some-one to check your brake lights when the symbol is on. Presume the car starts fine?
Tipex
As Cruiser says, it's highly unlikely to actually be the Glow plugs, and I don't think the light comes on even if they are faulty. It lights up to show a multitude of different faults, and VCDS is really the only way to get to the bottom of it, but again as Cruiser says, it often indicates the brake lights switch on the brake pedal is faulty, so check if the brake lights work as your first port of call.
