micalee
Just put a couple of Haldex Performance badges on the wings
Maxyboy
Is that a thing to shout about? I thought haldex was a bit of a hate/hate thing as far as 4-wheel drive went. Mk v .:R32? Notice the .: 😄
micalee
I probably couldnt tell you 1 4wd system from the next! It is a MK5
Maxyboy
Good on you. I had one from new. I ended up caving in to fuel costs/RFL and switched to a 330d. I still miss the rasp from it.
Tipex
Why on earth would you put those on your car? Anyone that knows what it means, would already know the car had it, and probably snigger at the badge announcing it!
garcon magnifique
And anyone who doesn't know what it means will simply wonder why you seem to be advertising a laxative.
micalee
Good point! Maybe I should take my R32 badge off as well then! Maxyboy
Good point! Maybe I should take my R32 badge off as well then! I think what he means is that it's like putting "rack and pinion performance" on the side of the car. Just a wee bit pointless. Don't get me wrong, I see what you are trying to do, by individualising your car a touch, which I've got nothing against, but I'm not sure haldex is the way to do it. 👍
Tipex
I'm off out to buy a 'laminated windscreen' badge for my Galaxy!
Cuprabob
Sorry, not a fan of badges in general hence why my Rocco only has the VW one at either end. As said above, the people who know what Haldex is would already know that it's on the car. On the same vein I've seen people putting DSG badges on the back too and ask why. But I respect that you want to make your car individual and if you like them then that's what is important as you have to drive it every day. Just don't get the motorsport branded stickers for the doors :-)
Maxyboy
In fact, this thread has made me decide to remove my badging. I though it was a rather crude name for a car anyway.

Maxyboy
Quattro kinda has a pedigree. It's a unique selling point. I'm not too sure haldex has the same status.

Cuprabob
Isn't the 'Quattro' badge that Audi put on their cars the same thing then! Key difference is that Audi put that badge on the car and as such is OEM whereas you are effectively adding "go faster stickers"

Cuprabob
They also put it on their cars with haldex, go figure. Yes, quattro ended up being used as a generic term for 4WD whether Torsen or Haldex. Just like VW used 4motion Haldex performance would be more relevant if car was fitted with upgraded Haldex Blue Controller :-)
micalee
Ok - so I hear what everyone is saying. We all have our own tastes and thats what makes us unique. Some of us like black alloys, others dont - Some like their cars as low as possible - some like a bit of comfort - Some want gauges and carbon fibre dials everywhere, others want OEM. Lets respect each others 'ways' and leave it there.
Tipex
No one has told you to take it off, it's your car, you can do what you like with it, but you posted it up, so you have to take the responses, whether you like them or not.
