mgoliver(aka Beermeister)
Left my A5 3.0 TDI at West London Audi since it had no power and had engine management light on. Received a call a few minutes ago where they said Diesel Particulate Filter and Pressure Sensor need replacing and will cost £1900.- Is this a known issue form Audi? Not sure I want to fork out two grand without investigating a bit on the subject... Anyone else out there with the same experience/problem? Is this something that could be changed by an independent shop? Any feedback / comments will be appreciated.

shark_90
We remove the DPF for a third of that cost! Get it trailered or drive it up to us in Mansfield. I'm not sure if you still have my mobile number but if not, call the office on 01623 332233 and we'll get it sorted out for you.
DaveP
How does de-dpf and the new MOT work?
shark_90
Doesn't make a difference. DPF is emptied rather than removed so a visual check is ok, and it will still pass a smoke test by a long way.
DaveP
Ah! I didn't realise. What power does the 170 go to?
shark_90
The highest we've done on our dyno at special request was 228hp, but without smoke they are good for 212-215hp with a nice smooth graph.
