audisport
Hi, Does anyone know where I can get 18" Monza 2 alloys refurbed in or around Leeds? I've got some serious corrosion on one alloy in the form of the dreaded milk effect - no curb damage or scuffs though! Thanks
JonC
A quick Google search came up with Alloy Wheel Repair and Refurbishment in Leeds | The Wheel Specialist
RedRobin
If you've got no kerb damage or chips etc you may be successful in getting them done under VW Warranty - Worth a go. Twinspark
Aren't these incredibly hard to refinish? - if they're finished in the kind of 'grooved' surface like the alloys on my old (and similar age) Passat, then VW were replacing them as they can't be brought back to a factory finish. JonC
Aren't these incredibly hard to refinish? They can be done, but not perfectly IMO - it looks like a refurb rather than OEM (IMO). I had one Monza II refurbed once and personally, never again. Alloy excellence was an utmost priority for me (OCD's etc), so I preferred to fork out for a new one the twice it happened. silentandy
I had mine done a couple of years ago - they lasted less than a year before the white worm was back. So if you get them all refurbished I'd get them painted.

I did get them replaced previously when it happened the first time round and now just the one has come back looking worse than ever.

audisport
....Then I suggest you do as I did and get them powdercoated: That looks nice and not a million miles off the original finish. Does it still have a high gloss (shiny) finish?
Mook
I just had a set of 18s powder coated in metallic titanium and they look the dogs bollox. Yes, very shiny! Find a decent plastic coating specialist and ask to see their colour chart. There's loads of options now compared to a few years ago. Oh, and get them to acid dip the wheels first, rather than shot blast them
