I like the plate, but it'll get my normal private one put on it once it's come off the Z4MR.

Cool. You should be shot for using Instagram to take a picture of it though. It looks like the 1970's revisited!

As I said on FB, the 135 is an absolutely awesome car. I was a gnats knacker away from buying one of these, albeit in DCT form, before the M3.

Awesome car is awesome +++

Spoke to the dealer... really shouldn't have wasted my breath. "if it's cleared it could just be a spike on a sensor that triggered it, if it happens again give us a call and we'll take a look".

I plugged the ELMCANII-WLAN in and looked to see if there were any fault codes, but non visible. When the M5 threw it's teddy there loads visible, so maybe it was just a blip?

Hows it going with the 135i..

I should probably do a bit of a write up really.... but in short:

Pros:

FAST and once mapped will be pretty mental

Small chuck able well ballanced chassis

Very torquey engine that pulls for ever

Comfy well equipped cabin for four adults

Cons:

No LSD means inside wheel will spinup on demand

Run flat tyres make it twitchy in bumpy corners

Instant throttle response missing due to turbos

I think with normal PS2's or SuperSports the rear end would be more supple and not spin so much, so not really sure a Quaiffe will be needed. Think a remapp and non-run flats are the only mods destined for it... probably ;)

Over all it's a very capable car, easy to drive quickly and not very expensive to run compared to other equally quick cars. I can't really think of another car at this level I'd rather have.

Going into the dealers next week to sort the limp-mode issue, suspect high-pressure-fuel-pump, injector or turbo control valve being the issue (all common issues with N54 twin-turbo engine)

Interesting comments there. You're right that when it's mapped it is pretty mental. However, if you marry that up to your other comment about the lack of LSD - it makes for interesting moments on occasion! I floored mine on Friday on the way home on a fairly windy road with good straights inbetween. The push in the back is very noticeable but the front wheels do scrabble for grip.

When you do get it remapped the torque will be what hits you most in my view. It's fantastic. It pulls in any gear and pulls quickly. The overall throttle responsiveness is markedly improved too. It gives you the instant throttle response you mention as being a downside now.
