Unlocking iPhones

Got a 5. It was in a 24 month contract and due to a Co moving away from T Mobile they paid off the contract and gifted out the phones.

T Mobile can't find the IMEI number on there list, and because the contract is paid off there no way of talking to them since talking is geared to customers in active service contracts.

A stale mate that has been batted around for 6 weeks. Apple see it on there system as contract with T Mobile, T Mobile won't talk.

Since my earlier post on the subject it appears that you can pay a 3rd party that amends the Apple IMEI records and places the phone on a white list that makes it free to air any network.

Anyone used such a service?j

I did it once with a 3S, £50 and no problems at all.

Getting a network to unlock it out of contract is an unbelievably large ballache, not something I'll ever try to do again (having had to do it with 2 previous iPhones).
