Welcome to Tyresmoke +++

I presume your golf is a MK4 also?

Why wheels from different cars? The cars youve listed in theory would have had same size wheels from factory.

Would the steelie pattern be different though? I'd try eBay. Should have plenty, otherwise a trip to the knackers yard might be a good shout.

Trents charge a mint for anything. I'd try ebay if I were you, or Club GTI - there's a few Mk4 owners on there.

My hope is that the pattern is gonna be the same and the other was that the bora wheels would be 17" and the golf 15" given the golf a slight rake to it, while trying banding on the front and back steelies and thank you for the suggestions

All steels fitted to that era of Golf / Bora will be the same size - most likely 15" - as anything bigger would be an alloy.

Not sure what attitudes are like around this part with reference to 'banding' - but I know I wouldn't trust a bloke in a shed to cut open and weld a wheel for me. Mind you, I suspect you're planning on running 'stretched' tyres, too... so I don't suppose wheel integrity would be a massive issue, as the tyres will feck you over first.

The whole idea sounds horrendous anyway.

That's a very fair point actually, and thanks for the wheel thing my friend assured me that bora steels where 17" he must of been wrong and yer the whole banding thing seems pretty shady to me too

I'm fairly sure the Bora steels (with wheel trims) were 16s. Some Mk4 Golfs had them as well.
