MrMPG
Finally, after the snow has abated I seized the opportunity to get out and wash/polish/wax the 'M'.
Biscuits
Really lovely Andrew. Think Silverstone is a great colour for the M3, but especially in the Saloon.
MrMPG
uumm Andrew? Thanks , as Mook put it, the saloon certainly is the 'stealth' M3.

MrMPG
Today I found the 'M' button, oh my.... I'd not really had much chance to try it before mainly due to the weather plus the fact I wanted to get used to the car first before trying it, but wow! It really comes alive! :D
Andrew
Don't get to use mine much but it is programmed as Power Plus, EDC to hard, sport steering and MDM. It certainly feels quite different!
Woppum
I love mine. Have absolutely no desire to sell it and get anything else, I think I'll run it in to the ground, have 22k miles n it now. With the pipe mod t sounds loverly too. Great cars, think the new m3 will be a turbo and not appealing at all...
MrMPG
I have mine set to the same Andrew although I've left traction control on for now - once the roads get a little drier I'll switch to the m dynamic mode. I thought it might be a little gimmicky but it certainly isn't it really sharpens the car up and it was hardly 'soft' before!
Woppum
I wouldn't worry about the wet in m mode. Even a novice is safe, it doesn't let you slip much and when you do the m3 is so easy. Just let go of the steering wheel and catch it when it points the way you want it to. Can do it with one hand!
Andrew
Feck me, I'm not trying that! Having a bit more of a play but I really need to do a course in it to stop me being such a fanny!!
Woppum
At o park they do a great course. Learnt everything I know. Run by MSv. I'd do another day mate if you are interested great fun.
MrMPG
Auto High Beam - Anyone explain how it works, I can't find an explanation in the book. From what I understand there are 3 sensors behind the review mirror and to activate it you push the stalk twice?? until the auto 'A' (in amber) appears on the dash. It seems to work ok when an on coming car approaches but i've also had it go off when driving past a sign with high reflection plus sometimes it doesn't come back on again?? Can it be tweaked in iDrive (i'm not near the car until next week so can't check) for sensitivity or anything else?
patently
My 5 series has it. The sensor looks for white or red light in front, indicative of an oncoming car or one you've caught up with. It is quite easily fooled by reflective signs, and I find my (2007) version is a bit slow to react. As a result, I tend to use it as a backup only. ChrisCSL
Hi all, Not been on this forum for sometime. Recently got an 2010 M3 Competition in frozen grey. VERY pleased with it. Looking forward to warmer weather and getting to a trackday. Interesting to see Woopum is still here. I remember him from when I also had a Scirocco R. Pleased he's still got the GT3. I've been reading back though previous posts on here and I see that you have done the exhaust mod. Now you've been running it for a while. How are you finding it. I'm seriously tempted as actual exhausts (BMW performance, Akra etc) seem to be 2-3k which I can't really justify. Cheers Chris
Woppum
That was the position I was in. Just didn't really want to spend all that dough on a set of pipes. Really pleased with the outcome, it is not too loud or boomy but with the windows open the car really shouts nicely. Sounds like how it should have from stock to be honest. ChrisCSL
Yeah. I need to take some decent pics. Need to show the matt paint in the right light. Should have taken a few Friday when it was in an underground car park. The artificial light shows it off well. Will post when I get a chance
