billy2shots
Just having a look round and it appears BMW are offering 0% over 2,3 or 4 years on ALL their M range. The deposits are pretty low too. You get a healthy dealer contribution of £7k upwards but there is a final payment to pay or hand the car back at the end of the term. Still a good deal imho. Sorry if this is posted else where but I haven't seen it on TSN. Edited February 10, 2013 by billy2shots
Booster
Mate of mine ordered an M5 on this deal last week. Got it from Eastern Bmw in Scotland. A salesman from there is on PH and he has been doing STUPIDLY cheap deals by cutting the dealer margin down to virtually nothing. His deal was £4k deposit and £700 a month over 30 months. Hand it back at that point. Lot of car for the money!!

patently
 Errrr.... seriously?? What kind of final payment was he looking at Booster (if it's not too cheeky to ask?)
Booster
No final payment, that was contract hire and INCLUDED the VAT and RFL!!! Standard car with just privacy glass as the only option. Costs start ramping up if you add bits to CH agreements as they just split the cost of the option over the rental period. e.g. £2400 option on 24 month deal would cost £100 per month. Deal is still available now but I can't see it being round for long!!

patently
Oh right - contract hire. I was wondering, as he's only paying £25k over the term of the agreement. Fantastic deal.
patently
Definitely a fantastic deal, the BMW website says circa twice that per month

Andrew
I think I know that bloke at Eastern - gave me my first ever M3 test drive! Nice bloke - couldn't get a car I wanted though.

Will blank out my mate's personal details and post up tomorrow Yes, please, please, please. Sounds like a cracking deal. Now, just need to convince the other half that we need an m5. After her always telling me how she had to buy something because it was too good an offer to miss I think this will be easy to justify.

Booster
BMW clearly think less but they are playing a numbers game in terms of buying sales. I have details of both the CH and the 0% finance with balloon. If I can, I will edit them on one of the apps that my daughter uses for drawing on the iPad and post tonight. If not, I will Tipex (no not him!) tomorrow, scan and post them up. I would go for the CH over the HP.
Andrew
What happens if you want to keep the car or swap it for another - I trust these are not options? For less depreciation you could just buy a 2nd hand one surely? Mine won't depreciate £20k over three years (I hope) form the purchase price and at the end I've got a car! Mine won't depreciate £20k over three years (I hope) form the purchase price and at the end I've got a car! For sure, if you have £50k-£60k lying around then it may be better to buy 2nd hand. However if you have to borrow the money to make this transaction then the BMW offer is very good value as I would be surprised if you will get a loan rate under 4-5% for borrowing against a 2nd hand car
Booster
Yep. Best used car rate will be about 4% flat so APR of just under 8%. Personal loan not an option due to the amount required.
Andrew
Sure, fair enough. I wonder how close the sums are against new one of £73,350 at 0% and a 2nd hand one at £55,000 - immediate almost £20k saving which would represent itself in paying less interest too. That said, if you can buy a 1 year old version with £20k off it already then perhaps the deal is quite good if there is only £25k depreciation you will pay through the offer outlined for 2.5 times longer ageing. In order to find the price I went to bmw.co.uk and there was an offer on there for an £11k deposit, £700 a month, 10k miles a year and a option final purchase of £31k. I'd like to try an M5 and just happen to be at Eastern for the security software recall on Friday ...
Scotty
Wow! I had no idea car loan rates were so high. When I say high I mean relative to the base rate/mortgate rates etc. I know a short term loan is different to a long term one but given the current rates, I thought they'd be lower. I'd hate to see them when the bank rates are higher!

So that's the equivalent of £929 a month. If I was to do that with my mileage it would be about £2 a mile before insurance, fuel, servicing etc Edited February 10, 2013 by Scotty
Andrew
No, 36 months is the default. I like the finance calculator you get when configuring on the BMW site although the display of the model you are looking at isn't great, on Safari at least. Factor in something for risk and bear in mind you are funding a depreciating asset that has wheels and can move anywhere (unlike bricks and mortar). Still sound expensive? Scotty
Yeah I appreciate the underlying costs etc and everyone needed their slice (otherwise there's no point) but I simply didn't realise it was that much.
