Digby
Hopefully a very simple question requiring a simple answer Noticed that the rear left (kerbside) brake light wasn't operating so changed the bulb but that didn't help. Both bulbs (the one I removed and the replacement) are ok. Indicators are operational. Fuses seem ok (??) Where to go next I wonder. Any thoughts ??? SAiLO
Scan for errors with VCDS.
Cuprabob
Break light switch would be my guess If it was the brake light switch the offside and high level brake light wouldn't be working. As I understand the post there is only an issue with the N/S brake light. Check the bulb holder and surrounding PCB for corrosion or a broken track
Digby
Yes, obviously if the brake light wasn't working neither of the brake lights would operate. There is no corrosion - everything looks pristine and as far as I can tell with a voltmeter there is no power arriving at the brake light bulb holder. (The parking side light is not working that side either). Would love to "scan for errors with a VCDS" but I have no idea what that is and how it wuld advance me ! I come from an age when cars were simple to fix !!
