cruiser647
Sounds like a monumental pile of sh*t to me! Many people swear by them. Many people swear at them. Personally, I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole. A long barge pole, held by someone else out of sight.

cruiser647
I am just a bit north of you, and I use a VAG indy in Welwyn Garden City. He's called Mark Tempest Auto Centre. Give him a call on 01707 392392, chat to him and see what he says. He knows his stuff, and I have had all my Audi's serviced and worked on by him and his crew. From an A8 4.2 Q, to a first gen A6 2.8 Q, a 2nd gen A6 2.8Q, an A6 2.7 twin turbo Q (all Tiptronics), another A6 2.5 V6 TDi Q (manual), an A3 FSI, Bora 1.9 TDi and now my A8 3.0 TDi. Each of the autos has had the gear fluid changed by them as the first thing I get done. Can you use the gears in the car by the way?

A long barge pole, held by someone else out of sight. I had one in my last A6. Clutch pack was replaced at 166k. No other work before that. Was still perfect at 197k when I sold the car. drpellypo
In that case it sounds like the ECU to me. The clutch pack problem creeps up with symptoms of juddering. Is PRNDS flashing in a block, or solid? That light sequence flashes when there is an error somewhere and can disable the box.
