cruiser647
Wow! Massive exhaust pipage! I am impressed with the whole look. You now know if's an R Edited March 2, 2014 by cruiser647
NewNiceMrMe
Why have they fitted a C63 AMG exhaust system to a car the size of a midget gem?
Luke
It's pretty quick. And around the Nordschleife only 1 second slower than a standard C63 AMG. So it can have a similar exhuast.
Cuprabob
It's the same number of exhausts as the new S3. Looks lovely in that colour, Lapiz Blue, I believe.

NewNiceMrMe
M135i. Better buy. I still think that when you're comparing anything in hot hatch form there is only one winner. The R isn't it.
Cuprabob
There have been some amazing 2 year lease deals on Golf Rs doing the rounds on the internet
Luke
Yes I have heard that Bob. About £350 p/m? They can't be selling many.

Paul
M135i vs Golf Gti they discounted the Merc A45 on cost. I won't spoil it, if you haven't seen it yet.
Cuprabob
The ones I've seen have been 6+23 at under £300 P/M for basic spec. To be fair there have been some cracking deals on the M135i too. According to my dealer they seem to be selling really well but as always when VW release a new model the constrain demand by allocation.

Luke
Ok, thanks. The Mk7 GTI I saw the other day looked superb. A class act. They are a lot of money these days but it looked stunning.

And if it's a straight forward lease where you hand it back after 2 years then the spec and potential resale problem is not important. You could rag it for 2 years! Cuprabob
MK7 GTI is a lovely car but I just cannot understand why they haven't made it 280PS like the Leon Cupra and the new Scirocco R. Also, for the first time Seat are going to make the Cupra R 300PS and 4wd, same as the S3 / Golf R

There is a whole thread on Golf R leases on Pistonheads and some of the deals listed, you would lose more money on depreciation over24 months if you bought the car. Tipex
4 exhaust pipes on a small hatchback just looks f*cking stupid, way too Barry, I'd be embarrassed to drive it. I can't see why anyone would buy the R over a standard GTi if i'm honest?

Not at the moment as I still like the Rocco and it's a really good compromise. Don't miss the performance that much but love the 55mpg.
