NewNiceMrMe
On Saturday I spotted Biscuits and Just_Chick in the Newcastle area. I tried speaking to them but they couldn't hear me. It's a Southern thing, apparently. They will be visiting an ear specialist this morning. I'd like to formally apologise for Newcastle Upon Tyne and Whitley Bay inflicting permanent damage to their senses. The next time they come up here they're going to bring a supply of ear-plugs, allegedly. It's quiet up North, you know.
Calm Chris
They couldn't hear you? Liar, they just can't understand your Geordie accent.
NewNiceMrMe
Ah yes, that'll be the Geordie accent that the southerner was puzzled about and couldn't understand why I didn't sound remotely like a Geordie.
Mook
It's OK - they can't understand anyone - they're from the planet Tharg.
Calm Chris
You do give a virtual perception that your likely to be quite loud in real life. The reality was that you were soft spoken when I met you, I shouldn't have bothered with those ear defenders.
NewNiceMrMe
You'd have needed them on Saturday. Not because of me though.

CarMad
Surely thats the event you have to accidentally gate crash and help yourselves with. We once went to a wedding that was in a very nice place, but it ended a bit early. However there was another wedding that was much larger with a fantastic live band and far better food in the same place. So a group of us gatecrashed that wedding and had a great dance and a bit of food before we retired. People even took our photo (we didn't realised we were sat at the top table at the time) probably to try and find out who we were the following day. NewNiceMrMe
Nobody wanted dessert. Except for myself and Just_Chick. MrsMe and Biscuits said they were too "full" (whatever that means) and settled for some wussy coffee stuff. I had sticky toffee pudding that the restaurant thought would be very funny to serve on the biggest, gayest, most overly decorated plate of 'stuff' that I have ever seen. I didn't eat it all. That is a lie. Just_Chick ordered everything. I mean absolutely everything. Ice cream, fudge cake, profiteroles, you name it. How she managed to eat it all is completely beyond me. I wouldn't have noticed it so much if it wasn't for the fact she'd eaten 3 starters and 2 main courses. p.s. MrsMe attempted to get Biscuits to have a liqueur coffee but he was having none of it. Instead he just sat with his frothy latte machiatto strawberry thing and seemed very happy with it. Edited March 10, 2014 by NewNiceMrMe

Chick
I've always liked my food The wine went down far too easily too Seriously, I'd be popping by for a takeaway dinner weekly when I didn't have time to eat in if that was my local Italian ..... and I'd need to go to the gym a lot more ! Sorry we missed you Milo, I hadn't packed my tutu or deedee boppers!!
Biscuits
Twas a very pleasant evening MrMe, great restaurant and all the better for the 49 birthdays being celebrated. Nice to finally meet the two of you. Very glad it was a tropical evening too, otherwise I'd have been shivering all night in my 3 layers ! I'm not sure how we managed it, but as luck would have it, we found a hotel out of town with the loudest bar and two hen parties... oh and the staff switched the music back on at 7:30am on a Sunday, how thoughtful !!!!! Newcastle....... been there now........ might go again, maybe, one day, never....

eldavo69
At least we kept our heads down when the hen party where grabbing guys for "dares" in the afternoon. Milo - I went to a black tie ball at the Marriott at 7 and then gatecrashed Fergy's stag do at AYLI from midnight until 2am before taking two other couples to Blue Velvet until 03:45. Still only 3/10 on the Milo scale though!!!
NewNiceMrMe
The restaurant is a good one and rarely disappoints. It just happened to be 5 times louder than we have ever experienced before on the evening Biscuits and Just_Chick joined us. Add that to their experience of the hotel full of Dutch day-trippers (the ferry terminal is 5 minutes down the road) and it made for a somewhat noisy experience. I have a blocked right ear and I'm blaming it on Saturday night.
Chick
Probably the sticky toffee pudding
