Fergy
Hi guys, need your help. My 2010 MY A5 coupe 3.0 TDI Stronic has developed a problem with its steering. Its out of warranty so wanted your opinion before taking it to the stealers. After approx 20 mins of driving the steering develops a clunking feel and sound thought the steering wheel at low speeds. It only happens after the car has warmed up and only at low speeds. After its been left to cool the problem rights itself.Any ideas??Thanks in Advance

Cuprabob
Don't Audis of this era have electric power steering therefore no fluid? Sounds like a faulty rack. Edited April 23, 2014 by Cuprabob

eldavo69
See - as soon as you're married the sex and going out dries up and you're left talking to other men on the internet about the funny noises coming from your front end! Tipex
Don't Audis of this era have electric power steering therefore no fluid? Sounds like a faulty rack. They still require lubrication, the rack is simply driven by an electric pump instead of one driven by a pulley off the engine, so shoukd still have a reservoir, it just might not be where you'd traditionally find it. Quite possibly but I'm sure the latest racks are electric and are sealed. I don't know when tje transition from electro-hydraulic to electric was made.
