Stick in oil...

So Im a genius! Had a bottle of oil, and to open the bottle i used a stick to open it, and a little piece of stick fell into the bottle. I tried my best to not let the stick get into my oil tank but it got in anyways. the stick may be about 2cm long and about 5mm wide. Should i try to get it out? I can get it out, but i need something longer and skinnier than just a pair of scissors. any ideas?

Yes. You don't want it disintegrating into bits that then block the engine oilways.

I'd be tempted to do the oil change again with fresh oil, personally, in case it has already shed any bits. And open the new oil with a screwdriver, they're a lot easier to fish out of the oil tank.

what next? ..... lost the oil cap so i used a sock instead and now its been sucked into the engine !

Funny you mention that, that exact thing happened to a friends husband (ex).  Dropped the oil cap onto the under car tray, couldn't get it, so used an old sock.  Ruined the car (obviously)!

Suffice to say, she wasn't happy!  :roflmao:   What a numpty!
