cruiser647
The mpg will only be shown if your car has the option fitted for the Multi-Function Display. You might not have that on your car.

drpellypo
If you take a pic of your dash with the engine running, we'll tell you what you've got.

NewNiceMrMe
Press the button on the end of the stalk (can't remember which side) and it'll show in the centre. It cycles through a range of statistics and looking at your dash I see no reason why the mpg shouldn't be appearing.
smileybobs11
I have checked on both the windscreen wiper stalk and tge indicator stalk and there is no buttons at all there! I have looked every where
drpellypo
That option only came with the tech pack. Oddly enough, the most basic computer that you have doesn't tell you MPG. I'm guessing it was a motivation to get people to buy the more expensive setup when they launched it.

But this was actually an optional extra. The OP's car does not have it.
Ian_C
Maybe someone traded the car in with a broken light stalk, and the garage replaced it 'on the cheap' with a second hand stalk from a breakers?
drpellypo
Nope - it was an option. Only the earlier ones had it as standard. It changed around year to year, some it was based on tech pack, some it was based on having xenons. If you had neither, then you got no computer at all. Just a miles remaining til empty. Ian_C
Ahh - good point (I posted without seeing your two replies moments before) The picture above clearly shows the older style red DIS (like my dads old A3) and NOT full colour DIS like my departed S4. Cannot believe a 2005 facelift B7 in S line trim doesn't have full colour DIS with the scroll menu!
drpellypo
Even the non colour dis has the options. My A6 did. But for some reason, even the non colour dis, to have extra options, was an optional extra.
