cruiser647
hi! I saw the post title and thought YES you can buy another key, program it and then get the immobiliser programmed too. BUT, on seeing the picture of the key, then I don't think you can. I actually think the button on the key is a little and very feeble light to help show you the key hole on your door in the dark! If you have a look on ebay for some BLANK 2003 key fobs, you will see they are completely different. I know when I had my Bora, I had a 2 button fob and bought another blank 2 button fob, that came with the programming instructions. It allowed me to create another unlock fob, then got Timpson to cut the blank and only cut the blank. Then got my friendly local VAG indie to do the immobiliser bit and the key was useable for lock/unlock, starting & immobiliser after that. Beware - there are many different frequency transponders on for these keys. It might be worth calling or visiting your VAG Dealer to ask which frequency you need at the Parts Dept desk? Just don't buy from them!! Take your V5 documentation too. Hope that helps..........
