bearra
Hi all Has anyone ever heard of 'express delivery' or am I getting the wool pulled over my eyes? My cab was built this week (9) and I assume now on it's way over to the UK. The dealer has said that it is on an express delivery so should be with them about 10/03/04 and ready to collect 13/03/04 after tracker... installed. You guys know more than me, are they being optimistic that I will have it 2 weeks after build or should I take that with a pinch of salt? After 5 1/2 months on order I'm getting so impatient I'm going psychotic
Chrisg
Never heard of it. Mine has been built this week as well and the dealer is telling me about 2/3 weeks and I should have it ( S Line), so .......
Newbie123
Sounds about right to me as well, as that's what I've been told. Once it's built they want your money.
bearra
Cheers Guys Newbie, haven't got to cough up till day I pick her up! Don't know if that's the norm? They said cos I was paying with debit card it was OK to pay on the day. Although not sure what the bank is gonna think £38 1/2K on a switch transaction, think I might frame that reciept!! Chris have you been given a day yet to collect? Also do you know when we get our registration plates so I can get the insurance sorted?
Newbie123
Yep Bearra payment on collection. What I meant was the quicker the get it to you after building the quicker they get paid. Should be an interesting switch payment , I wonder if the new money laundering regulations will affect it though. Might take a while to get it authorised etc.
Andy_Bangle
There's no problem with Switch payments at the dealers. Its all quite quick and painless, you just have to confirm who you are over the phone to the banks security team. I've brought my last few cars this way, even the 62K CSL, it beats going to the bank and getting a bankers draft. - Andy
Newbie123
That's good then. It was just a thought as there are new money laundering rules which come into force as of tomorrow the 1st March 2004.
dodgy
Yeah, they ran my VISA card through for my Cab which was rejected - just called the bank, confirmed it really was me buying a car - then it went through fine.

Newbie123
BLOODY HELL ! That's unheard of for car only built last week. Look forward to seeing the pics. Gives me hope that mine might arrive early as well. I wasn't expecting it for another 10 days or so like you.
bearra
Fingers crossed for you Newbie, just out of curiosity when did you order yours? Looks like I actually got some Audi customer service! Rare commodity!
Newbie123
Well the order was actually placed on the system during the last week of January. Although I did actually order back in mid December.
GCab
Congrats Will be picking mine up next week too, though it was already in UK so it's a bit of a cheat to compare. Big week for new cabs, then Good luck, newbie: might well have come on the same boat as Rich's - they can't do an awful lot of deliveries a month, surely... bearra
Cheers Gans Aren't we all gonna be the kids with new toys (fingers crossed Newbie) We're gonna have near identical cars next week Gans, the colours and spec are almost identical, there aren't many differences apart from the obvious 1.8TQ v 2.5Tdi. Oh boy I wish the they did the quattro on the TDi, jealous about that Gans! Though I'm still confident I'll love the torque on the TDi
