Honda RCV213V-S-WTF!!

I'm completely baffled by this bike. People have been waiting for decades for Honda to make a proper V4 sports bike and then they come up with this.

"Claimed numbers for the stock, road-legal bike are surprisingly underwhelming: claimed 156bhp, 170kg dry weight. For reference, Ducati claim 205bhp/166kg from the £21k Panigale S. There's no seamless shift, no pneumatic valves - the motor is closer to the RCV1000R customer bikes than the RC215V factory/satellite bikes.

However, there is an optional sport kit, which takes power to 'over 211bhp' and cuts 10kg. Expect at least a full exhaust system and electronic hardware/software changes, but Honda haven't specified what's included yet. As stock, it has five-way adjustable ride modes, adjustable engine braking and adjustable torque control. It's going to be roughly £136,000 in the UK."

They could have blown everyone away by saying this is the new Fireblade but £136,000 !!! What is the point ? Yes, 211BHP with 160kg is pretty special but a superbike spec is not far off that....  I have started to hate just about everything Honda does at the moment.

I have been really looking forward to seeing the spec for this after all of the hype over the last six months.  Seeing it at the bike show last year next a full factory MotoGP bike you saw how similar they were.

There was story after story of how it was virtually a detuned version of Marquez's bike with the pneumatic valves.  And then the video came out last week where it sounded terrible and I started to worry!  I watched that video thinking back to how the Desmosedicci sounded and there was no comparison.

And now the spec comes out and it is completely underwhelming.  They have also announced that they won't build a set number of them but build them to order - I have a feeling that they won't be too busy.  I'd rather have a Desmo, a Superleggera and £40k left thanks very much.  It isn't even about the money - I could have won £80m on the Euromillions this week and I'd still be asking for my deposit back.  If at full spec it is not road legal anyway then you may as well just buy a Moto2 bike!
