Rachel
Yep. the UK and US pay stupidly low prices for new vehicles...
NewNiceMrMe
The US certainly do but there is still a big hike to the UK price by comparison. I don't think the specfication differences are what they used to be either. I picked a car at random... 430i Coupe - £32,511 (converted price) in the USA 430i Coupe - £36,025 in the UK 11% more expensive in the UK but.... 430i Coupe - £51,912 in Australia. As said above, Australian prices are still a bargain compared to Denmark 430i coupe: £76,529 in Denmark £58,100 in Norway but it is a 430ix model £35,375 in Sweden, but it is a poverty spec. £43,500 in the Netherlands. 23 hours ago, Rachel said: Yep. the UK and US pay stupidly low prices for new vehicles... NewNiceMrMe
It does make you realise that the grass isn't always greener. People move to other countries and sometimes think they're going to pay less in tax and the cost of living without looking at the wider picture. You then have property prices in places like Melbourne being on par or close to those in London.
JonC
Toorak is Melbourne's most affluent area. Other Inner east burbs having the most desirable addresses. Same in Sydney. Prices are equivalent to some of zones 3, possibly 2 of London, but only Hong Kong and Monaco top prime central London on £ per sq/ft basis.
