IOM TT 2017

I'll just put this thread here to discuss this year's event.

Just caught up with the Superbike race and it was a cracker. Couple of points;

- That Norton makes the sound of evil...

- Guy Martin, how lucky was he to escape with just a sore wrist?

That interview with him sitting in his transit van was shocking. I've never seen him like that before. That crash really scared the crap out of him

I kinda hope he decides not to race on Friday. Not sure he or the bike are really ready.

I thought exactly the same.

Totally agree, he has nothing to gain and a he'll of a lot to lose.

As an aside, I really like the ITV4 team, especially the views of Cameron Donald this year.

Shame Whitham's not there. Not only coz I quite like his input but due to his cancer returning :(

Guy Martin's made the right decision.

He's not racing in the Senior.

I agree, that's a very good decision.

Watching the second sidecar race.

I guess if you're going to retire on a 37 mile circuit the best place to do so is right outside your own pub.

Without giving away the Senior result (please - I'll be watching the highlights tomorrow!), glad Hutchy's not too badly hurt after his off on the mountain. Dunno if it's the same leg he smashed in 2010 or the other - and not sure which would be better? Get well soon, you absolute legend. +++

Sadly I came across the result but will still be watching the highlights tomorrow night.

Glad Hutchy is OK...

I too stumbled across the result. Annoying not just having to wait for the evening show but for the next day.

Even although Hutchy won a couple of races he did seem a bit out of sorts on his post race interviews and felt he wasn't performing to his full potential.

To be honest knowing the result doesn't waste it for me as much as it does if it's short circuit racing...

I remember years ago watching a MotoGP race and knew that Rossi had won it and all through the race thinking how the feck can he win it from here:-)

Just caught up with last night's programme and can't believe how excited Guy Martin was on finishing 2nd on the Mugen bearing in mind the bike is significantly better than the others.

I certainly hope that Steve Parish's prediction of Guy not competing in another TT is wrong as I would like to see him get at least one win.

*is significantly better than all the others except the one that finished ahead of him.
